I take the subway 5 days a week to downtown Los Angeles and in my travels I have seen many different personalities that range through:
The ride is an interesting one with much closer interaction than what I would like on some days. However, with that said, it truly is a place to experience life and situations you would probably never run into anywhere else. So, that provides an opportunity for growth and reflection.
I often reflect on the different levels of personalities that make up this world. We each have something that we personally bring to the world. There truly is NO WAY you have come to be on this planet and not contributed to this world. Even a hermit in the deep forest has done something for an animal or nature.
Before this life began, our souls laid out a Life Plan that would provide the opportunities to meet the goals we wanted to achieve while here. Now that concept may sound a little farfetched to some but to prove my point you simply have to look no further than your own life to see the path to your purpose.
When something feels right and all life is going smoothly, you are on the path you planned.
Now, you may have some challenges along the path. These are the obstacles you set up for your own growth. Since those challenges are preplanned by YOU, then on a soul level, you are prepared for that challenge and will survive it. If you can see the reason why you had to go through it, this will help you to move past the event easier. And if you follow your heart and find the positive in the situation, this will also help with the recovery process.
If you constantly are having medical problems; or everywhere you turn it seems like nothing is going right; or the feeling that the world is against you, then chances are, it is more than just a challenge. It is God’s way of getting your attention to try and get you back on your path. And the further you get off that path, then the harder life gets. This path was established so that we, God’s children could have a plan with many opportunities for growth. God is a parent trying to help you meet your goals and only wanting the best for you.
We are to experience life, not sit back and watch it happen. No one should discount their part in the world! You may be lonely or feel like an outcast, but you have a purpose. One of the goals along your path is to “remember” what your purpose is. There are many different purposes:
1. It may be an easy one- like you have a natural ability to sing and you pursue your dream to be a singer and touch others lives with your music.
2. It may be a little tougher -like you had to go through a tough childhood to be able to face and grow through your challenges so that you help to make sure those challenges are made easier for future generations. I.e. You were abused as a child and grow up to be an activist for the next generation of children.
3. Then there are the harder ones- you have lived a “normal” life, nothing too exciting then out of nowhere some tragedy or major challenge changes your course in life. I.e. A loved one dies from something that causes you to change legislator, or advocate against the one thing that caused the passing (drunk driving, texting while driving, or cancer.) The event becomes a catalyst to get you on your path with a renewed belief to spread faith in God and humanity.
To grow your soul- is one common purpose WE ALL have.
We all must remember that, no matter who we are, we are important. The challenges against negativity and the accompanying growth that comes along with it are made easier when every person does their part. And by having the desire to look for your purpose you will start to see YOUR path illuminated.
Some will sacrifice their life.
Some will live long to share their love.
Some will contribute by keeping the world moving forward in different ways.
We are all a piece in a bigger puzzle.
Since the beginning of life, we have broken so many old habits and learned so much. We are amazing angels in human form. By treating each other with love and respect you are helping the next person with a positive point to help grow from and remember how amazing WE are.
Much Love and Purpose.
For as long as we have existed there has been some form of Faith.
~Referring to a religion that you practice.
~The belief in something bigger than us.
~Or faith in others.
In the end, it all refers to Belief.
When life is going good, it is easy to believe the universe works with you, though you may not acknowledge the assistance as much as you normally would when times are tough.
However, at some point in everyone’s life, no matter who you are, your world will go through such drastic changes where it is stripped and you feel like you have nothing left. These are the times when you feel alone, when you feel lost, or when you are trying to figure out why something is happening. During this time you will reach a point where no one else can help you and you truly don’t know what else to do but release the control of the situation. By surrendering all control you are declaring to the universe, god, karma, anything- that you have faith in the changes to come -that are causing you to give up your control.
Many people, including myself, have had their faith tested this year. So many loved ones passing, losses of jobs, wondering how to feed your family, how you will get through an illness, and more tragic events like terrorism, riots, random acts of violence and natural disasters. Though these are normal parts of life, this particular year seems strangely riffled with such occurrences.
Throughout life, it is important to remember who you are without all the material things and your ego. And just as we have to remind our own children of how to behave properly, sometimes God must remind us- his children- too.
God’s desire is to assist us to reach our goals and for us to shine our light to help the next person. Realizing that our ego and negativity cloud our world and prevent us from reaching our goals, our world sometimes needs to be rocked in order to remind us of where we came from and how wonderful we are.
When your world is cleared of the clouds and you truly see what matters, is who you are and how you conduct yourself, then you will start to see the light - the right path - and the world will seem to make sense all of a sudden. Then you will have a renewed sense of faith.
Recently, a friend was looking for a job for many months and just could not get one. After shifting his faith and giving up control of the situation he suddenly had 3 interviews within 2 weeks, all for jobs he enjoyed.
On Friday, he was offered one of the positions that would start the following Monday but he had to decide whether he would accept it by 5pm that day. The problem was that his true desire was for one of the other positions he had also interviewed for and was waiting to hear back from.
So he put it out there what his desire was by saying a prayer, then he and his family gave it to god to finish, knowing that he had just 40 minutes to call back and accept the “second choice” position. They had faith that before 5pm they would know what to do. At 4:52 they received a call saying he got the job that he really wanted, his “first choice” position! Therefore, he could let the other one know he was not taking it before the 5pm deadline.
As a bonus for his faith, at 4:53 he received a call from the 3rd interview and got that job too, which he accepted because, schedules worked out perfectly. So he and his family can now get ahead financially and they have a renewed faith that god is working with them.
Faith is the one thing you have to acknowledge - then just trust it is happening.
Trust the outcome is as it should be.
Trust that whatever you are going through is happening for a reason.
Trust that God only wants the highest good for you. He will never fail you.
Trust that even a challenge or setback has a purpose.
Trust that if you can reach a place in your life where you are open enough to see the signs and you just keep moving forward mentally, spiritually, physically, morally, god will be right there with you providing the path and lighting the way.
Your heart will know the signs leading the way because everything about it will feel right. There will be no confusion or questions. You will just know.
Surrendering all outcomes is a show of faith and God will ALWAYS acknowledge it and provide you a response.
Faith is more than a religious connotation.
Faith is believing You and the Universe are working together
with the highest morals, goals, and unconditional love
for the betterment of humanity.
Much Love and Faith.
Life is full of daily choices you get to make.
Some choices are easy.
Some choices are hard.
Some will test you.
Some will show your character.
Choices help you to DEFINE who you are.
You will learn from the consequences of your choices whether they were - Right OR Wrong.
Many situations in life will present you with the opportunity to take what is called “the high road”. This is the moment where you realize that in order to move forward in a situation you must relinquish the desire to make your point of view understood. In emotional situations, this will be one of the hardest decisions you will have to make when all your emotions are begging you to do the opposite.
I have been presented with the choice to take the high road many times; primarily within relationship situations. The difficulty with close relationships is that when a conflict arises you naturally will want to discuss it with great passion to explain your view. So taking the high road can be a challenge. Here are a few lessons I have learned when it comes to conflicts within a close relationship:
Then there are times when you know that no matter how many times you revisit the subject, your point is just not getting across. That person will just never see it; no matter how gentle you try to explain it. So this presents you with the opportunity to stick to your guns and continue the conversation until your point is accepted OR better yet, you could take the “high road” and let it go?
We are human.
Emotions give us our passion and strength against the negative.
Taking the high road and letting a situation just be is very tough for most people. It is in our nature to survive and thrive, and doing what it takes to ensure that is happening, including winning every argument.
Walking away from a situation knowing that you are leaving it in god’s hands is a show of faith.
By not continuing a disagreement you are allowing spirit to work on your behalf. It may take some time and you may never see THAT exact situation resolved in your favor but your sign of understanding and rising above the negativity will be rewarded. Other situations will present themselves and you will recognize the reward and most of the time it will be with the person you walked away from.
It takes a lot of dignity, faith, and strength to take that road-alone. But I can say that it does get easier with each time you do it. And you become proud of yourself for how well you handled each situation when you were presented the opportunity to take the high road.
When you know in your heart you need to stop and walk away you are making a choice that is helping you define your future. You are writing a new chapter on how you will be treated and how you treat others.
Each walk in life is individual. The choices are yours, and once you have chosen, that’s when you will feel the support from above that will walk with you down, what may seem like a lonely road here on earth. But know- God would not ask you to walk alone. God is right beside you helping you to see the positive down the road.
Much Love and Strength.
Moms are self-LESS!
We sacrifice our sleep, due to the erratic sleep patterns of our newborn babies and our beds for protection from the boogeyman.
We sacrifice our food when times are tight and our homes to play dates and sleepovers.
We sacrifice our makeup to the budding makeup artist, and constantly give our time away. Do we think twice about it? NO!
When you become a parent, your child becomes your top priority, as it should be! They are so precious how can they not be? You want to give them the best, and you raise them with the hope that they will one day change the world!
Trying to achieve this lofty goal has often left me feeling like a zombie, just slowly moving through the daily routine of:
~Bed time story
~2-3 trips back to the room to assure my angels that the boogeyman is NOT in the closet.
And then repeat.
I do however love being a busy mom. So much so, that I had never stopped to wonder where all the energy came from. One day, I suddenly noticed the energy just wasn’t there. It was then that I realized I was constantly giving away my energy and not replenishing it. I was just merely surviving the daily grind.
I also figured out that the energy I was running on for years was from a reserve I had, from my life -prior to kids. Back then, I had a lot of FREE time and I filled up on things I enjoyed: shoe shopping, being spontaneous, dancing, and dedicating time to career, perfect hair, and my spouse.
Now, the only time I allow myself to enjoy being a woman- guilt free is when I receive a sweet gift from family or friends for a massage, a mani/pedi, or a facial. Because they know I would never buy it for myself.
As a mom, you end up depleting your energy stores by not indulging in those simple pleasures and instead thinking, “I will find the time and money later.” But what moms have to remember is that even though you cannot see “energy” you feel the difference when you don’t have it right? Everything and everyone needs to constantly replenish their energy sources. For instance:
We all have our individual walks in life. My walk in life is to be a WOMAN who happens to be a mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, sister-in-law, aunt, step daughter, step sister, half sister, a niece, and friend. But my biggest role to play is in this game called LIFE, where I must give my contribution to the world.
Each individual soul must constantly be refilled with joy, love, respect, and positive energies to perform at their fullest potential.
We are more than JUST mothers, so it is imperative that we make it a guilt free standard to find the time, at least once a year, to replenish our souls with the things we enjoy.
We all know when MOMMY is happy, everyone is happy.
And the energy you gain from that little piece of enjoyment will go a long way.
Much Love and Me Time.
